Rostering Timekeeping Award Interpretation Payroll Payroll can be so easy from automated, compliant Award Interpretation-approved timesheet

From Roster to Approved Timesheet

The system allows timesheet authorisation with automated approval when timekeeping matches the roster, and notifies management of non-matching records for acceptance and approval of timekeeping that varies from the roster.

Timekeeping

Employees enter GPS timekeeping directly into the system via their devices. Alternatively, the T&A records can be imported directly from the chosen device and captured to the employee’s shift-by-shift rostered times.

Timesheet Sign-off by Employees

Timesheet records are push-notified to the employee device  for their  sign-off.

Payroll Processing is as Easy as the Following Steps

  1. Select the pay run to execute
  2. Follow up on missing timesheets or required employee details like TFN or Bank Details identified at the first stage of payroll processing
  3. Execute the pay run, which can be available for management approval to commit.
  4.  Once approved to commit, post to STP, Payday Super and GL accounts
    1. Payslips will be auto-posted to the employee portal
    2. Any management reports will be ready to review and action on if necessary

Frequently Asked Questions

How much time and effort can such systems save?

Some say as much as 75% of time and effort is saved by the payroll team with such a system

Can such systems achieve 100% compliant award interpretation?

Yes, for simple award interpretation.

If you have complex variable conditions, like for multi-engagement shift workers, the best-of-breed can undertake the rules for the Australian market, such as Inzenius

Can you have more than one engagement in the one shift award interpreted separately?

Inzenius is the only out-of-the-box system that can do this without setting up a separate employee for each engagement.

The problem with this is you need separate employee files, and the tax and super allocation will need manual adjustment and errors in STP with 2 employees with the same TFN will complicate the process.

Are leave accruals and payments accurate to the requirements of the awards with automated award interpretation?

Most do not have the ability to interpret the leave balances accurately and are often a separate element in the Payroll end of the systems

Inzenius automates leave accruals based on time worked each shift, at a fixed amount per pay period, and as credit leave, with additional leave allocated automatically based on the defined number of weekend days worked. It uses the employee’s standard hours for each  day to reduce the balance by those hours each day of leave selected
